I have Xfinity 1gbps; I am only receiving 45% of my speed

When I first got the upgrade it was 1.3gbps now I have 450mbps. It's very annoying. I have tried TCP Optimizer from speedguide.net. The program for tweaking your settings has worked in the past.
However, now, it doesn't surpass 100mbps+; when it originally went up to 1gbps.

May be the adapter is limiting it?

You haven't told us much, are you using Ethernet or Wifi? And what is the exact device? Many laptops come with cheap Wifi Cards but that don't explain why you would get good speed then all of a sudden not. Maybe you were on Ethernet, then Wifi, but again don't explain why you are now down to 100? I know there is a lot of traffic these days, did you contact Xfinity yet?
