Windows 8 reminds me of a cell phone or a gizmo to put in your front pocket. When I sit down to my main computer that is what I expect "A Computer", not an oversize cell phone.

Then stick with Win7. Problem solved.

Clean install from a corrupted and virus laden Vista original factory install on this ancient laptop.

Runs like it was at Indy!
Its only a Start screen. Just click the Desktop Icon and you are ready to go.

Hi,

Yep. It even comes with two applications for you to launch: explorer and internet explorer.....(if you have a live line to your ISP that is)

Can't say they have looked after your productivity but you'll sure learn how to be creative fast...:D

Cheers, ;)

P.S: In case you hadn't noticed, it also comes loaded with a raft of apps for you to learn how to use that tablet and cell phone too.

The rumors are MS is still working on the desktop interface, we should be getting some improvements either through an update or maybe a CP2.
This is the direction that MS feels they must go to remain relevant in the current market place. We have to decide if we want to follow along, or stay with an older version like Win7 or other options.

When I use Win8 I stay in the desktop environment most of the time but, am learning the Metro side as well. It just depends on what you want to do with your computer.
