Greetings and oh my gosh Windows 8 is great! Except Hyper-V. For some reason, Windows won't enable Hyper-V Core from the Features dialog box. It says that virtualization is disabled in the firmware. UGH! This is a stickler for me since I got my new printer cartridges and I want to finally print but VMware 7 is giving me insufficient permission to access the file and I can't boot into my 32 bit 7.

On an off topic side note, can VMware's vmdx file be converted into vhd so Windows can mount it and possibly boot from it?

Thanks!

Shoot! Nevermind, I solved my issue.

I looked at a KB article and downloaded (and ran in compat mode for 7) a Windows Virtual PC checker and it said I didn't have hardware virtualization which I found odd since I've ran VMs before. So I quickly restarted and enabled any and every virtualization related option in BIOS-which was like only two-and quickly booted into the Windows 8 and now Windows detects hardware virtualization and now Hyper-V is enabled! YAY!

Hopefully this helps someone.....
