Huge DriverStore and Huge WinSxS Directory

I noticed a large increase in my Windows Folder it is around 23.7 GB 5-6 GB larger than normal. I keep a close eye on files sizes as this is on a 64 GB SSD.
After some searching around and making sure there are no downloads or restore points I ran CCleaner which I use religiously and windows cleaner with all options turned on. Still no luck.
However I found what I think are the culprits.
One. Windows\System32\DriverStore =8.06 GB to me this seems huge
Two. Windows\WinSxS = 6.83 GB including 22,135 Folders with 92,138 files. Again seems excessive.
Are these numbers excessively large?
And is there anything I can do to reduce or remove them.

Simply put, run this command: Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase

On my Win 8.1 Pro X64 system, DriverStore is 1.7GB. On my Win 10 X64 system it 780MB.

8.06GB is extreme for sure.

Edit: Looks like displayed verses actual is a lot closer than I expectd. I was under the impression WinSXS had lots of hardlinks in it and not so many actual files, I was wrong:

Just found this:

After running DISM with the “/ResetBase” parameter you cannot go back and uninstall previously installed updates…

Not sure how much of a concern this should be.
