When I boot up my Windows 8.1 PC, it always comes up in the Startup Settings menu, where I can select a Safe mode or just press Enter to come up normally. I want to UNDO that, so that the PC comes up normally. I don't recall what I read or how I got this PC to work like this. Seems like it was in this forum, but I can't find it anywhere.

I'm not going through Advanced Settings and all that. It literally comes up displaying the Startup Settings Menu.

It was a way to be able to choose Safe mode on a system that was possibly unable to boot up normally. I have never used like that and have come up with a better solution and just want to make that menu go away.

Anyone remember how this was done? Maybe a registry hack? I don't know.

Never mind, I found it:

- bcdedit /set advancedoptions yes

This forces the PC to come up in the Windows 8 screen where you can pick different startup methods including safe mode and safe mode with networking and safe mode with command prompt!!!!! When it comes up in that menu, you just press ENTER to go into Windows in normal mode.

If you want to REVERSE this D O N ' T U S E bcdedit /set advancedoptions no, as that will totally disable that safe mode menu. I N S T E A D:
- bcdedit /deletevalue advancedoptions

That will reverse this and have the PC come up "normally".
