Nice day to all.

I have read the tutorial/s and solution/s on the forums, but I cannot find what I am looking for.

Here is my situation:

-I have now installed and using two sata hard drive (Drive C "500GB" for OS and other programs and Drive D "1TB" for Games and other Documents)

-I also have SYSTEM IMAGE created before and saved it on my external hard drive.

Now I want to RESTORE that SYSTEM IMAGE saved on my external hard drive to the Drive C "500GB"

My asking for help is HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY:

>Should I disconnect/unplug the SATA Cable for the Drive D 1TB before I proceed with the system image restore?

(By the way I have no problem with the procedures on how to do the system image restore)

>OR is there a RISK if I just continue with the system image restore with both SATA CABLES for both HDD not removed?

I hope i have stated my problem clearly and thanks for any advise.

yes i already have created the system recovery disk right after i created the system image weeks ago (as per the links you noted above).

the reason why i ask if i have to remove sata cable for my drive D, is i have read that this might erase my drive D while doing the system restore eventhough drive D is on a separate drive., just wanna know if someone experienced the same.

btw thanks for the reply.

Yes I 2nd @theog that its a good idea to remove or disconnect any drive other than the drive you are recovering to or Clean installing on. Window 8 can do some weird things some times it not worth taking any chances of getting your boot manager spread to any other drives other than the one your OS is going to be on.
