How to remove MS Paint from Windows 8.1

Hi everyone,

I would like to remove MS Paint. I don't use it as it does not meet my needs. I have tired to uninstall it from the Apps location and it does not give the option to remove. I have looked for articles online to give tips, however I do not see anyone for this OS. I get the feeling that is unwise to remove it as it would impair the performance of the computer if it was removed.

Am I correct?

Hello Windows001, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Paint is a Windows system file that can't be uninstalled.

If you like, you could delete the "C:\Windows\System32\mspaint.exe" file to remove it, but there's really no need to. You could just the Paint shortcut in yout Start menu to not have it three anymore.
