How to protect folders without software

Hi Everyone!
Is there any method available for protecting folders in windows without software

Yes, kind of. You can use NTFS encryption. It will protect from people stealing your data but not necessarily stealing your computer. (or using it in an unauthorized way)

You can also use WinAPI functions, though this would technically require writing your own software to some degree.

Windows has powershell built into it, which can call WinAPI functions.
