First of all, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!\

i'm wondering how to change my language preference.
i've followed the guides on http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/13677-input-method-set-default-language-windows-8-a.html yet i'm still having troubles.

when i install my windows 8 this afternoon i set my location into indonesia. so all of my settings was in bahasa. i've done as the guide said but in my "START", things like Music, Weather, Pictures and some others are still in their bahasa language. while others like Maps and Computers are already changed into english.

Please help me :D and hope you have a jolly christmas

Hello Alpha, and welcome to Eight Forums.

The input method would only be for your keyboard. If you want everything in English, then you could change your display language to English to do so.

Hope this helps, :)

@Brink
I believe the location setting is different with the language of tiles in Metro in win8 and win8.1

I've been living in Japan for a while. After a clean install of Windows 8.1 (US-en) and setting the location to United States and turning off the location settings as you suggested above, still some tiles in Metro shows Japanese characters.

My location is set to United States and the Override for windows display language in Control Panel\Clock, Language, and Region\Language\Advanced settings is set to English(United States). But still the tiles are in Japanese.

I mean the language and the location are two different patterns. For example I have United States weather (because location is set to US) in Japanese language in my tiles. Now go figure it. Why should I read about United States sport events in Kanji (Japanese Character)?
