is anything here knows how to enale all 4gb memory as usable?

Hoping for replies and help.. Thank you!

I'm really disappointed when i discover that this is how the result be when i upgraded my memory from 2gb to 4gb..
otherwise the 1gb un-usable memory will going to be useless!

Thanks!:geek:

I have no idea if your laptop is compatible, you will have to check the spec against the minimum spec for Win 8 64bit.
If compatible you will have to uninstall the 32bit version and install a new 64bit version (at extra cost).

The full advantage of accessing the extra ram will only be realised if you use 64bit programs, though there may be a small improvement as the OS internal process operate in 64bit. An explanation of the choice between 32bit and 64bit is http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/32-bit-and-64-bit-Windows-frequently-asked-questions it relates to Windows7 but the principles remain.

Your PC is 64bit capable in system properities window you can see line that says:
System type 32bit operating system, x64 based processor

x64 is same as 64bit. so your processor can handle 64bit os

Your 32 bit version of Windows has a 4 gig address space. Included in that space is video ram and any address space used by other add-in cards. Even if your video card has its own onboard RAM it still has to be mapped into that 4 gig address rang. What's left is usable RAM. In your case going 64 bit will let Windows map Video ram etc in the space above 4 gigs leaving your 4 gigs usable. If you are using your motherboards onboard video that uses system RAM, its still going to subtract from your usable RAM though. There is no way around that other than adding a dedicated video card which has its own RAM. In Windows 7 your product code is good for 32 bit or 64 bit and I believe that is also true for Windows 8. All you should have to do is get hold of 64 bit install media. Your product code is embedded in your BIOS and "should" be auto detected during the install. You'll likely have to match the version installed, 8 or 8 Pro, depending on what's installed now.

FYI: Going from 32 to 64 bit won't make any difference. Going to 64 bit and adding ram will.

I have Win 8 Pro X64 with 4GB ram. System Properties shows 4G (3GB useable). The 1GB is not wasted. It's used as alphanumeric said. Same was true with Win 7 Pro X64.

The simple answer is , in most cases, you won't notice a difference. The 64 bit version is able to use more RAM and run 64 bit programs but it's still the same OS. It won't look any different than the 32 bit version as far as using it goes. If you only have 4 gigs of RAM it likely won't run any faster than the 32 bit version. Nothing you'd notice anyway. If you are using your motherboards onboard video and its using part of your system RAM there is no compelling reason (IMHO) to go 64 bit. In that scenario with 4 gigs of RAM, you won't have any more usable RAM than you have now.
