How to download Windows 8.1 Update 1 Official ISO file?

Hi. I am new to this forum and I have been reading about tricks for downloading Windows 8.1 ISOs to perform clean installs on OEM machines.

I also happen now to be in the same situation since the manufacturer did not package any media with the OS.

But my question now is:

- How to get Windows 8.1 with Update 1 already included in ISO from an official source like MSDN?

Additional doubts:

- In this tutorial, does the process already gives you the latest Windows 8.1 ISO with Update 1 slipstreamed?

You can not, unless you buy MSDN subscription.

No.

Yes.

MSDN? You do not need a subscription to check for SHA1. I have found mine here.

I assume that all ISO images with a "with_update" suffix are referring to the famous Update 1.
Is that correct ?

I see that you got your SHA1 number alright in that website.

I need a source that will confirm the SHA1 for the Portuguese-Brazilian edition.
Currently I have no way to access MSDN to see its SHA1.

The ISO obtained in the link you posted does include update 1. That is, if you enter an 8.1 key you will get an 8.1 ISO that has update 1 included. I have verified it myself. You need a Retail key to actually do the download, OEM keys are blocked.

The constructed ISO from the download tutorial rendered a file with 3.2 GB.

The torrent with the pt_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_DVD_4048337.iso file is 3.8GB.

I am not sure. Do both include Update 1 then?

I installed the constructed downloaded ISO in Virtual Box, where do I check for Update 1 ?

Yours will be more tightly packed into an .esd file.

The bigger (msdn) one has .wim

Enthusiasts will either get the wim version, or convert the esd . That is so it can updated.

No point in bothering now. The new update 2 thing will be around in a few weeks.

The Microsoft ISO is multi edition, it can install Core or Pro depending on what product code you enter during the install. The one downloaded via that link is Core OR Pro depending on what key you enter for the download. If you enter a core key you get Core, if you enter a Pro key you get Pro. As far as I know the Core Download cannot install the Pro version and vise versa. That's why the ISO sizes are different. One of the additions you'll see is a Power Button and Search Button on the Start Screen in the upper right hand corner. You should also see a Store Icon on the Taskbar.

The official Microsoft ISO's that include update 1 will have "_with_update_" in the file name.

Darn it, I have just realized, that I will need to do another clean install to get Windows running smoothly. :shock:

I'll be doing a couple of clean installs once update 2 arrives. I have some hard drive to swaps to do. I'm going to put an SSD in my wife's laptop, and swap the 500 GB drive in my media PC for a 1 TB drive that was in my main desktop PC. It now has two 256 GB SSD's in it. I'll also be switching my laptop from 8 Pro to Enterprise so I can do a new Windows To Go drive.

The generic keys are also blocked. If the OEM key is a Core key that may be why your Pro download won't accept it. I still think you need the special single language ISO for it to work though. There is no such ISO listed under my MSDN account so I can't tell you what its called or what the checksum is for that ISO. If you do a forum search for "single language" you might get lucky as other forum members have been in a similar situation.

I also have no info on what specific ISO it would be for PT-BR language.

Does downloading from Store keep anything like a ISO itself ?
I think it downloaded just that what I need, but then it installed and it deleted itself...
Or is it somewhere in the hard drive?

I think you are correct, you need to download the single language ISO I don't know what that ISO is called. I'm not sure where or what the store upgrade saves. The other download, saves all the files to an ESD folder. http://www.eightforums.com/installa...d-windows-8-1-update-1-official-iso-file.html The files in that folder are used to make the install media, ISO or Bootable USB thumb drive.

When you did the update from 8.0 to 8.1, you downloaded the single language esd. It was decrypted and extracted. Unfortunately, it gets deleted during the reboot part of update.

I don't know if single lang iso are available except via oems.
