My new PC should arrive today(7/3) or on sunday(7/6),i want to install my OS(Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64bit) on it.
I just don't want to spend time downloading & installing all the Windows Updates,so any way to copy my current OS at it's updated state so i could install on new PC?

Hi there.

1) Image it (Old computer) with Free macrium / Acronis or whatever program you like to external device.
2) Boot recovery program on new PC (Bootable version of Acronis etc.)
3) restore image to new PC

(Even though Hardware is different usually the computer will be OK enough to boot and install any missing / changed drivers your new hardware requires). If for any reason it fails simply insert the W8.1 Enterprise disk and choose REPAIR system - usually not necessary).

If you get a Windows re-activation request (remember Windows 8.1 enterprise is Multiple activation) - no probs there - and it doesn't work simply type in in administrator mode SLUI 3 (the 3 is part of the command) and then type in the key and it will activate.

Of course though as a matter of extra protection take an image of your NEW computer before installing the W8.1 system -- including its recovery partition. Acronis will back all these different types of partitions up without a problem.

For your DATA just save it with Windows / File explorer. Note - Always keep OS partition and data separate -- when you re-install the OS you don't have to recover your data.

Cheers
