How much can I shrink drive that contains the OS ?

I was looking at the tutorials and I believe I understand how to do this seems easy enough . However my computer does not have a CD drive, so I need USB flash version . There seems to be a new Bootable media Maker that can produce a bootable flash drive directly , but there is no link to download the bootable media builder. Is this embedded in one of their Pro products ?

Partition Wizard Bootable CD allows user to manage partition directly with partition manager bootable CD.

Download the CD .iso to your PC and use Rufus to make a Flash Drive version - dead simple.

Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

I downloaded and ran Rufus, with the CD ISO from Minipartition wizard .

Questions:
a) Which MBR partition scheme to use ? the default which is for both bios and UEFI ?
b) When I selected the ISO , it says "obsolete version of vesamenu , connect to internet to load latest version or menus wont show correctly " Should I do it ?

Tks

I have the flash prepared but how do I Boot from the flash drive? There does not seem to be that option in boot menu . Do I have to enable booting from Legacy Devices but to do that I need to turn off secure boot. Safe to do?

Alternatively I went to Recovery from windows a to choose device but there is no USB flash choice , just lots of USB CD , Floppy , HD etc

Tks

If you are using 3rd party Partitioning,Backup & Cloning software, which fully supports Windows 8, uEFI, GPT & Secure Boot.
Which is signed by Microsoft.

The CD/DVD/USB will boot from One Time Boot Menu in UEFI mode.

I don't get your screen at all. I prepared the flash using Rufus and choosing uefi/bios option. However the flash does boot when inserted in my win 7 machine. How do I get to the one time boot menu? When I hit esc , followed by f9 , I get the boot menu but I get the following options : Windows boot manager ( ipv4 and IPV6) and Legacy drives which is greyed out.

New INPUTS

I was informed by Partition Wizard Support Techs that there is no need to use a bootable usb .

After installation of Minitool Partition Wizard in the OS , start it and proceed to perform the partition . Then when you click Apply, a screen will appear saying to reboot computer to complete the operation. It proceeds and everything is done as if you had used a USB.

Thus I have successfully shrunk the partition.

I then used Windows Disk Manager to create new partitions in the unallocated Space .
