Hello ummagumma,

The 64-bit Windows 8 Pro upgrade ISO file is 2.69 GB in size, so you'll be looking at around 35 minutes or so at your full speed. Longer, if your ISP or the download site is not operating at full speed.

Hope this helps, :)

There are many factors that effect download speed. It's hard to say exactly, but many people have reported it taking about 3 hours to complete the entire process (download and install).

Brink, I think that's the 32 bit size. 64 bit size is closer to 3.4Gb.

Put the CD's in your carousel, go take a bath.

It should be downloaded well before The Grand Vizier's Garden Party is finished.

Hello Mystere,

Yeah, that would be the size for the one from TechNet or MSDN, but the one through Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant is only 2.69GB.

My ISO x64-bit file was 2.63GB, and it took about 10-15mins. Used to have Windows 7 Ultimate x64-bit. So far I really enjoy the new OS. Much faster and fun, although trying to locate some apps and services and dock them to the taskbar could be a pain :D

Thank you all,
I downloaded the Upgrade file and installed last night and it took about 3 hours from start of download to finishing the install.
I am now going to take probably a lot longer to learn how to use it:D.
Like the look of it so far though.
Ummagumma.
