Solved How do I undo Custom Sizing from 500%

Hi I increased the custom sizing to 500 and now I can't undo it, and I can't do anything at all actually. I do not have a system restore point either, my Windows 8 doesn't let me for some reason... this is a serious glitch I cannot believe there is nothing to prevent this.

EDIT: I did have a system restore, got to it by holding Shift when selecting restart. I was nervous about using it but it said none of my documents would be erased so I guess it worked out. Microsoft owes me a tablet!!! Seriously though, quit making new products until you can actually build one that works properly. If I were an old man with technophobia or something this would have cost me a lot of money.

Nah that's for something different my issue is with the text size being to large, even if that did work I couldn't select it because everything is so large I can't select anything.

I'm reading the official Windows guide to go into Safe Mode but at step two it says "Under PC setting, tap or click General" But there is no general button

Tried both Ctrl Scrolling and hitting F8 as fast as possible... nothing. The scrolling only works on the desktop, and the F8 just does not work. Thanks anyway... this is about as funny as it is pathetic for Microsoft.

Okay I tried that, but the issue is that now I am on a new account on the same computer. So wouldn't those changes only apply to this new account? Also I tried downloading the file from step three and it says it cannot open

Cannot Import .... Not all data was successfully written to the registry. Some keys are open by the system or other processes, or you have insufficient privileges

Andrew,

Are you signed in to an administrator account when you merge the .reg file.

I guess not, the main account I use is the one that is inaccessible. I just made this new one to ask these questions, but it's not a child's account or anything, it should have the same amount of access

I just tried doing that step on the disabled profile and the Internet Explorer is also messed up. I thought I could use the Windows 8 explorer from the start screen like I am on the new profile but instead it's the regular one... text blown up and all.

Okay well... is there any way to import all my files to a new profile? This is ridiculous. Also how else can I get in to Safe Mode without press F8 like an idiot as fast as I can?

Hi,
Since I already had a backup image, I thought I tried to mimic what you did and here's how I did to fix it:
  1. After I changed to 500%, here's what I got after I sign back in:

  2. Go ahead and click on the X to exit the screen
  3. Now right click on the desktop and select Personalization
  4. Click on the Maximize button, you should see the Display option, click on it
  5. Next click on the vertical scroll bar and scroll slowly with the mouse wheel until you see the selection as shown below

  6. Click on the 1st or 2nd selection then press Enter. You should get the Sign out screen
  7. Sign back in, you should be back in business.

Hey I fixed the problem by doing a system restore. I thought I couldn't but that's my brother's computer, a whole different problem that he will never even try solving. I held shift when selecting restart and that gave me the option to restore it. Thanks for the help, Microsoft itself was completely useless... can't even get their support number without signing up first. Pretty nice of you guys to do their job for them! Luckily I'm kind of tech savvy... if my dad had this issue he would have paid like a hundred dollars for Geek Squad to do it for him.

Just a warning to others, if you have to sign out for something to take effect, that means it's permanent so you better know how to undo it! Oh yeah and the only visible improvement from Windows 7 beside faster start up is that system restores save your files! I didn't lose any luckily.
