My computer is an HP Laptop with a 17" screen. Today I connected a stand a lone monitor that is about 22". I've managed to get the resolution for the Laptop back to standard or native resolution.
However I'm going around in circles trying to get the larger monitor to it's proper resolution. How might I go about doing this and get the larger to respond independently from the Laptop Monitor?
Do I need some software to accomplish this or what? All help will be appreciated by this old man.
All you gotta do in windows 8 is first hook up the screen to the laptop.
Then just hit Windows Key + P and then if its connect properly you can extended or whatever you like.
Or you can just hit the Win Key and goto the desktop and right click on a bare spot and select screen resolution and then configure it from there you can extend and so forth. you should see the second screen in the appearance above. if not check the connections and such
