How do I make mouse less sensitive?

My new laptop is driving me crazy! I use the mouse and it's always making everything bigger or smaller. How do I change it to be less reactive?

Bigger or smaller? We need a better explanation. Bigger or smaller has nothing to so with sensitivity. That sounds more like a zooming feature of your mouse.

And do you really mean "mouse"? Or are you talking about the notebook's touchpad?

Okay, so I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop.

I am talking about the built-in mouse--I guess it's actually the touchpad.

You know how there's the feature where you can enlarge or decrease everything by using 2 fingers on the touchpad? I had that on my last laptop too, but with this one I'll just be using, or trying to use the touchpad to move the cursor and the other thing will keep happening.
So I suppose it's a problem unique to this model but where in Windows 8 do I go to fix it, if indeed it can be fixed.
On my last laptop I went to personalize and pointer options. But not the same here.
