Solved How do I disable Windows 8 navigation bar from popping up?

When I am typing it appears that there is some type of shortcut that I am hitting which then pops up that navigation bar on the right hand side (where settings, search, etc. is). I would like to disable any of these shortcuts so this doesn't happen at all when I am typing. Can you please help me to do this?

Hello Kindra, and welcome to Eight Forums.

This would be the "charms bar". Pressing the :winkey: + C keys would open the charms bar.

Thank you for your response however I am definitely not pressing those two keys. It's when I am just typing normally... sometimes possibly pressing shift to capitalize a letter but sometimes not even that. I type really fast so it happens all the time and is so frustrating. Not sure what else it could be??

Do you have a touchpad on your keyboard by chance that you may be opening charms with an edge swipe?

Yes I think that was it. Thank you SO much! I disabled the edge swipes and so far so good. I just had no idea what was going on.

It's easy for your palm to trip the edge swipe on the touchpad while typing.
