I know how you feel! After installing the CP version a few months back and setting up the user account with my Windows Live ID I setup my home WiFi connection. Since then, every time I've installed Windows 8 with my Windows Live ID, including the RTM version, it magically "remembers" my WiFi password (as well as my Twitter login, my GMail account, and who knows what else).

Very convenient, but a little scary...

This is because, If you setup an account with Live ID
And you have Synch Settings turned on, Settings are saved in the cloud separate from all other data you might save (ie; SkyDrive)
This will synch your settings across Win8 PC's, so, you go to a friends house, login to their 8 PC, and there is your GUI and how you loike things setup
It does not put your files there. But network Passwords etc.

That online account is in general a bit scary, so that's why l never use it to log in on the OS. The advantage is that everything gets synchronized so you don't have to click and manually replace the files from usb sticks... but it's what I usually do, so I got muscles on my fingers.:thumb:

All goes fast with the new accounts. But if one of you accounts gets hacked then ALL your data is in trouble. (Let's hope all those sites are well secured.)

I have to admit that the new features are great.
But you'll eventually get lazy and dependent of them... and one day you forget how to copy / paste just like we all forgot about the command prompt / DOS ui. No need to cry about this one, it's evolution, it always happens. You use the features you like and you don't use the ones you don't like, but you have to know a bit how they work to decide.

Something here doesn't make sense to me? If you're only network connection is a WIFI connection, during the install, Windows 8 will ask you what wireless network you want to connect to. If its an encrypted network it will also ask for the password for that network. If your WIFI requires a password windows can't connect without it. If it can't connect, it can't sync with your live ID to get the password all by itself. So I'm guessing some of you are installing with the PC connected to your network with a cable. Then later on discovering that your WIFI is already setup correctly for you?
