Is KC SUMo KC Softwares the best way to keep all software updated? Any better substitute?
sounds cool and what if i want to take backup of exe/setup file?I use Chocolatey package manager in Windows 8.1 (tutorial) and PowerShell OneGet in Windows 10 (tutorial) to install and update applications. Couldn't be easier, added bonus is I do not have to think possible third party bloatware often included in other "updaters".
Checking my app update status in Windows 8.1 just now:

That's why I prefer package managers like Chocolatey and PowerShell OneGet. No surprises there, you can install dozens of apps with one command, installers run silently in the background without any bloatware. No "Next" clicking several times, no deselecting "Would you also like to install this", no nothing. Just clean installed (and updated) apps.Be careful what you wish for, sometimes ( most times ) updating software tends to invite trouble, adware etc. when I have a piece of software that works perfectly, I tend to leave it alone and turn off the automatic updater.
It is. And so simple!Chocolatey looks much safer.
