Hone Network WiFi Problem

Hi Guys

Just wondered if anyone could assist.

Plan

skybox - ethernet - router A (access point) - wifi - Main router - pc? - internet.

trying to set up router A with laptop BUT can not get to talk to Main router and hence internet. Laptop connects to router A and can access setup page for router but can not see how to get any further by Wifi. ( Too far/difficult to cable as in rented property and would have to pass thru 3 rooms)

Ideas please guys n gals

So you disabled DHCP on the secondary router? If not it won't work. What the heck is skybox?

You want to go with modem>main router>A/P

You also need to be sure and plug into the LAN port on the secondary router, LAN to LAN port, don't use the WAN port on the second router.

DHCP is disabled but will have to dig manual out as ports are not named lan/wan - but the soon will be.

Skybox is that thing we pay Richard Murdock a fortune for his satelite channels -Wife for some reason does not like freesat - can not think why

Satellite then ok, yes DHCP can't be enabled on the secondary A/P, non labeled ports is strange but I'm sure you can look that up. You should be using the gateway of the first router once it's set up right.

Bit of an update - I think I am getting bogged down with technicalities and getting no where.

Trial 1. - tenda w300d config as bridge ( I think )
Can see program list in sky demand but when I select a film says I need a telephone line connecting . Try to record same result. If I plug laptop to tenda by Ethernet can not connect to TG582 internet router.

Trial 2 - connect laptop direct to sky box

Can see program list in sky demand and when I select film can view or record. But I do not get the pictures to go with the film in demand list and can connect to internet

In sky setup ip is set to 192.168.1.60 and in laptop ip is 192.168.1.85 with a gateway on both as 192.168.1.254 all subnet 255.255.255.0.

Tried a ipconfig /all and got so much info totally lost and do not know what is what so have attached txt file to see if you can / would be willing to put unto words of one letter never mind syllable for a complete thicky. Anything in bold/underlined/italics are comments by me to try identify bits and pieces. One thing I can not understand is why I get two different networks 192.168.1.x 2which I know about but where did 192.168.137.x come from.
