Hi, I just finished building my new computer
My gpu is XFX R9 290x Radeon installed correctly fans react when computer is turned on
I'm having a problem starting the set up installation from the provided disc, it seems to not respond when I try to open it.

Does anyone know if this card is compatible with Windows 8?
If so is the set up application not responding because I need to find the correct driver online?

Any help would be really appreciated I'm new to windows 8 and the employee that sold me it told me they fixed there issue with Video card compatibility

Welcome to the forum!

I would download the latest drivers from here: Download Drivers

Would also advise updating to 8.1 as soon as you can. Would do it before you make a lot of system changes.

With GPUs especially, it's always best to just grab the newest drivers from the AMD (or Nvidia) website. The ones that come on the DVD are usually months old.
