Google Search Results Goes back to blank Google Page

Thanks in advance for the help.

When I type into the Google Search Box, the results do not display
Rather, it goes back to the new blank google page
it is IE

any one who can advise what to do> thanks!

Desktop or metro mode for IE? Does it do the same with Firefox or Chrome?
