Getting the Windows 7 Low Battery Notification Back?

Hey everyone!
I was wondering if it was possible to get the old, unobtrusive low battery notification from Windows 7 on Windows 8? As it stands, whenever I hit 10% battery, this huge bar pops up right in the middle of my screen and minimizes anything I might be working on. This is fine in most cases, except for when I'm gaming and end up running off a cliff while trying to get the game window back up. -_- Is it possible to just have a little popup appear above the taskbar when my battery gets low, like in Windows 7? I'm really trying to like Windows 8, but stuff like this is unacceptable.

Thanks!

If you upgraded from 7 to 8. Not always are you going to have 100% compatibility with Windows 8 on an older Windows 7 machine. You would need to check the manufacturer of your computer's support site, to see if they have all of the drivers for your machine, available as Windows 8 versions.

Thanks for the reply, broe23!
This is actually a brand new laptop, only had it a few days. There are no Windows 7 drivers on Asus' website, but I shouldn't need them. I'm just looking to change how I'm notified about low battery levels.

In that case, it may be just hidden. When you click on the arrow to show all of the icons in the taskbar, or Customize. Does it show the power icon then?

If this was an update to 8.1 or 8.1 update 1. There has been some known issues with those two updates. Reinstalling the Asus Power/AHCI driver usually helps to bring it back.

There is a lot of odd stuff that is happening with the update to 8.1 or even 8.1 update 1.

Thanks guys!
The battery indicator found in the bottom right hand side of the Taskbar is not hidden. I just want to replace the current "low battery" notification (pictured here), with the old Windows 7 "low battery" notification (pictured here).

Any suggestions?
