Get Windows 10 Shows Up In Taskbar?

My graphics card is not compatible either(2 year old laptop)

I am assuming it the ones with dual graphics cards, mine has an Intel HD 4000 onboard and a dedicated Radeon HD 7670
Its the Radeon one it objects to, so I think all will work, just wont be able to take advantage of best performance (ie gaming)

Hoping this is just a driver update for 10

My laptop has dual graphics, AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7670M. It shows Your Good to go for me? Hardware, 0 issues found.

On a side note, upon opening the "Get Windows 10" today, it's asking for an e-mail address? If I want e-mail notification, with a skip option? First time I've seen that.

That's blown all my theories out

What driver do you have for the Radeon 7670M
Mine is
13.250.31.0
09/12/2013 (9th Dec 2013)

I did have the Dell driver previously, but AMD site says the one MS provide via windows update will be fine, this is what WU gave me (updated it yesterday)

My laptop is currently running Windows 8.1 with the default driver installed via Windows update. CCC shows version 13.251.9001.1001.....etc. I haven't had any luck with Windows 10 though as far as graphics drivers go. I get almost constant ccc has stopped working popups. Couldn't get my USB monitor to work either so I went back to 8.1.

Thanks, think I will leave this alone for now and look for better drivers when I upgrade to 10

CCC still shows me as using dell drivers, even though I updated them yesterday to the ones from MS

When I first got my Laptop and updated drivers, got all sorts of CCC problems, so not touched video drivers since (except yesterday afternoon), no issues on 8.1 at the moment so going to leave alone for now

When I upgraded to 8.1 from 8.0 l would usually go right to AMD for my laptops graphics drivers. My laptops dual graphics are AMD/AMD so I can do that and not have any issues. With mismatched sets like Intel/NVidia your likely better off getting the custom driver from the laptop manufacturer. Otherwise your switchable graphics may not work. Lately, my graphics driver gets updated right after I do a clean install. I see the screen flicker and hear the new device detected beeps. It works fine in 8.1 so I just go with that driver. I haven't bothered to check if the driver on the AMD site is newer that what windows installs.

One thing I've noticed since the Get Windows icon is there(doesn't bother me)---That GDMF'nSoB Input Indicator keeps coming back, again & again & again.... I hate that thing, always have and always will:mad:.

That's the one single thing I dislike on Windows 8.1. The Input Indicator has a life of it's own, and pops up every once in awhile, usually after an Explorer restart. But now since the Get Windows icon is there, every boot, and sporadically during use. It has even changed my keyboard from German to English once, and I have deleted all other keyboard choices. I hate it-I hate it- I hate it:p.

I agree too Windows 10 icon does not bother me for now till July, why they tell you can be removed this way when it can not.
Sure i can kill the process in task manager while using the PC, but it does come back on restart or cold boot.

I doubt that very much. Your computer is HP Envy dv7-what so I may look at the specs.
Have you reserved your Win 10. If you have, click the icon then the hamburger symbol on the top left of the screen. What does it say?

Computers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, were not designed for Windows 10 but are eligible for the upgrade. Seeing as its not officially released yet your not going to see very many, if any PC's with a Designed for Windows 10 sticker on them. The "not designed for Windows 10" comment was likely because there were no Windows 10 drivers for your device from the manufacturer. They are basically telling you, you're on your own if you upgrade, don't call us if you have issues. My desktop PC's aren't even designed for Windows 8 let alone Windows 10 and they can run 10.

Cheers,
As someone suggested earlier...try it and if it doesn't work properly go back. :)
I'll definitely update my Macrium Reflect Image before I switch.

I'm running 10 130 on an Asus M2N68-AM SE2 µATX Motherboard with a AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6GHz. Nothing cutting edge there. That's my oldest and lowest spec'd PC in my house. 4GB of DDR2 Memory and a GeForce GT 610 PCIe Video card. Upgrade from Windows 7. I'll be here even if I don't end up running Windows 10. I likely will, on one PC, just so I can check things out.
