@jds63
I do not think it affects the reservation you have already done but what happens for future notifications, I do no know. Too early to say.

Unsure myself, but OEM versions have caused me problems in the far distant prehistory of XP etc.

[Can I have a step by step to uninstall it? Thanks!

Press the Windows key on your keyboard along with the R key. The run box should pop up. Type appwiz.cpl and click OK.

Click on 'View Installed Updates'.

Scroll down until you find KB3035583. Right click on it and then select 'Uninstall'.
Or it can be disabled by disabling/deleting GWX tasks in Task Scheduler's library - Windows - Setup.

I am assuming that is for someone else? If Allison is not familiar with uninstalling an update, and seeing how she asked for a step by step on how to do it, do you think she'll be able to follow something that likely looks cryptic to her?

You could get it off the Task Bar by Hiding the icon and notifications in the Sys Tray. I find it to be an eyesore visible all the time on the Task Bar.

That only works until you reboot. Then it gets set back to Show Icon and notifications. If it was that easy I wouldn't have posted my little rant. ;) There is a bit of a delay too, just to let you think you got rid of it. Then it pops up again in the tray.

My graphics card is not compatible either(2 year old laptop)

I am assuming it the ones with dual graphics cards, mine has an Intel HD 4000 onboard and a dedicated Radeon HD 7670
Its the Radeon one it objects to, so I think all will work, just wont be able to take advantage of best performance (ie gaming)

Hoping this is just a driver update for 10

Is this a viable option:
1. Upgrade to Windows 10 when it becomes available
2. make an image backup of the new installed OS
3. If I don't like it, restore a prior image backup of Windows 7 or 8.1

That way I could test it and still go back and forth if I wished. Would that work?

As they don't have everybody's email address this is the most efficient way to let everybody know they can get a free update, it's a tiny notification not some huge adware package that takes over your system.

My laptop has dual graphics, AMD Radeon HD 7660G + 7670M. It shows Your Good to go for me? Hardware, 0 issues found.

On a side note, upon opening the "Get Windows 10" today, it's asking for an e-mail address? If I want e-mail notification, with a skip option? First time I've seen that.

Windows 8 doesn't work that well without an email address, I just think it should go away after you have registered or maybe declined.
Or perhaps ask first?

That's blown all my theories out

What driver do you have for the Radeon 7670M
Mine is
13.250.31.0
09/12/2013 (9th Dec 2013)

I did have the Dell driver previously, but AMD site says the one MS provide via windows update will be fine, this is what WU gave me (updated it yesterday)
