Get Windows 10 Shows Up In Taskbar?

Interesting report from the GWX app on my Laptop. On my desktop I am running NS Beta and it checks OK.

I wonder, how long it will be free, until regular payments will be required, like Office 365.

Once you upgrade to Windows 10 through the free upgrade offer, its free for the life of that device. The only thing that happens after that one year period is that anybody that decides to then do the upgrade must pay for it. Anybody that has already upgraded just keeps on using their free Windows 10 with no additional fees.

Regular payments? If I pay for anything its one off, no 'regular payments'. I do not 'rent' anything.
Since it has been confirmed by MS, that 10 is the last Windows and from now on it will be only offered like a service, the question is not if, but when it will happen. Probably 10 will be a crossing between 10 and 365.

Microsoft trademarks 'Windows 365'

Windows as a Service does not mean "by subscription only". And I have not seen anything that says it will only be offered as a subscription. Not from Microsoft. There is lots of FUD on the internet on that subject that should be taken with a grain of salt. Newegg already has a listing for stand alone OEM versions.

Windows As A Service just means, no more new "Stand Alone" OS's... no 11 no 12 no Roof no Front Door etc... Upgrades, improvements, and new feature are automatically part of the deal through Windows update, as a service to the user/owner of the PC at no extra charge. I'm sorry, but that's as clear as it get's.

I have an old PC with Win 7. I tried to install Win 8 on it. It said this PC is not Win 8 compatible . So can I install Win 10 with Win 7 upgrade offer?

If you have the GWX icon, open it and at top left click on the hamburger icon and it will open another window. Click on the item I indicated (wording may be different) and it will give you a report on your system.

I'm just bugged to be honest that there's no option to disable the notification in the context menu like really?
I ended up just removing the update because I don't wanna waste system resources on that.

Plus like, my current computer's motherboard doesn't support UEFI and supposedly Windows 10 requires UEFI for the install. :/ Hopefully I get my new computer built before 10 comes out or something. Gonna be fun waiting for everything to be fixed to run on Windows 10...

Only using 1.5MB seen it in task manager, so no worries. I just received it today and reserved mine.

As said by others i love freebies too.

You do not have to have UEFI BIOS to install Windows 10. I've installed it on my desktop PC which only has legacy BIOS. I did the Reservation and its says my PC is ready and I'm good to go. Most PC's that shipped with Windows 7 do not have UEFI BIOS and they still qualify for the free upgrade. You were misinformed.

When you look at the update which was marked recommended or important is the way it just states it by adding additional capabilities for Windows updates to Windows 7, 8.1 as to never know what it really meant till received the extra icon in taskbar.
Now found out by starting a post here from OP....

It doesn't seem to matter how many times you set it to "Hide Icon and notifications" it just comes back. That is so lame and unneeded.

And it confuses me with one on the left side bottom, but smaller
Sure you will find a way, not much resource loss just annoying i know, now only 0.3mb. Always end task, temporary fix while using the system.

I just don't get why they do stuff like that? I reserved my spot so why make me look at the Icon forever and a day? Let me hide it and just unhide when the time comes for me to update. What's so hard about that?

Sure if you googled it someone made a hack to get rid of it, but not sure would trust it yet.
