Turned on my Asus laptop to find a full screen picture of a cheetah running across sand dunes in front of evening sun. Unable to log in, access Windows or any other facilities. Cannot turn off laptop by on/off switch as it fails to go off. Can anyone help?

Hold your power button down for about 10 seconds, or until the machine shuts off.

Many thanks for the advice which I'll bear in mind for the future. The problem eventually rectified itself as we left it on overnight and it had booted up by the morning. I'm not a fan of Windows 10 though as it seems to have a mind of its own and does odd things quite frequently. I run my own computer on Windows 7 and have no problems. That's progress !
