How to Use "Find in Start" for Apps in Windows 8.1

The Find in Start option will allow you to quickly find an app on your Start screen when you are unable to see it for whatever reason. When you use Find in Start to find an app that has been pinned to Start, it will take you directly to the app on your Start screen with the app tile highlighted so you will now know where the app is located on your Start screen for next time.

This tutorial will show you how to use the Find in Start option to quickly find an app on your Start screen in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.



Here's How:

1. Open your Start screen to Apps view, and do step 2 or 3 below for what you would like to do.

2. Right click or press and hold on the app (ex: CCleaner), click/tap on the Find in Start option at the bottom, and go to step 4 below. (see screenshot below)

3. Type the name of the app (ex: CCleaner) that you want to find in the Search box. (see screenshot below)

A) Right click or press and hold on the app (ex: CCleaner) in the search results, click/tap on the Find in Start option at the bottom, and go to step 4 below. (see screenshot below)​

4. You will now be taken directly to where the app is located on your Start screen with the app tile highlighted. (see screenshot below)
