Files in recycle bin that I did not delete??

Windows 8.1, daily driver.
Just got home from work and noticed that their were several files....14 to be exact....that I did not delete. When I right click and check the properties on them, it says they were deleted four hours ago....while I was still at work???
None of them are junk files. They were all files that I would never have deleted. There is no one else here using my computer.

The even "worse" part sort of.....is that I am pretty sure it is not the first time this has happened, but this is the first time I actually checked to see what was their before I just "emptied" the bin. Now I am wondering what the heck else has been deleted that I am not aware of.

Is their something new in windows that automatically deletes things that I don't know about???

Hello PakRat,

Were these items on your desktop?

If so, they could have been removed by System Maintenance. Icons and shortcuts on the desktop that have been unused in 3 months get removed.

They were not items from my desktop. Their were a couple pictures, some document files and some 3d printer project related files. All of which were in a folder in my documents folder.

Hmm, I'm not sure what would have automatically deleted them.
