Solved File History.

Hi, I've turned File History on using the default setting & requesting daily updates. I've selected my External Drive and all is working as it should. However the bit I can't grasp concerns the method of back-up. Is it incremental or a complete new back-up each day? Secondly, I've allowed the default 5% of the external drive for the back-up; what happens when this is exhausted? Does it request more space or does it overwrite the earlier back-ups.
I expect a number of you will know the answer, so thank you in advance.

Hello Yorky,

File History periodically (by default every hour) scans the file system for changes and copies changed files to another location. Every time any of your personal files has changed, its copy will be stored on a dedicated, external storage device selected by you. So basically, it's an incremental backup.

For how long these saved files (file history) are kept, depends on what you set in "Advanced Settings" below. By default, they are kept forever, and will request more space when it runs out.

Thanks once again Shawn, So it is as I expected which is fine. I have it set up and it's working which means that apart from the odd check to see all is well I can forget about it and sleep easy.
