Hi, I have a np9770 sager laptop and about a day ago the brightness settings no longer work and external monitors I plug in no longer work either. My version of 8.1 is fully updated with windows update. Nothing as far as I know changed but here is what I have tried to fix it:

1. Running driver sweeper in safe mode and reinstalling most recent drivers from nvidia.com
a. Running driver sweeper again in safe mode and installing drivers from the sagernotebook.com website
2. Uninstalling and scanning for hardware changes fo generic monitor in device manager
3. Running sfc /scannow in command prompt, nothing wrong
4. Updating chipset drivers from both the intel.com website and sagernotebook.com website
5. Rolling back windows to a restore point on the 12th of September, about 5 days ago
6. Creating another user account
7. Verified adaptive brightness is off in advanced power settings.

Odd things I found:
1. In device manager the gtx 980m display adapter has a warning triangle on it and this message when I double click on it:
"Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
This has been constant throughout the whole ordeal
2. Whenever connecting a monitor as soon as I plug it in the monitor lights up as if it were going to work and just says hdmi not connected then goes to sleep. Nothing is detected in device manager.

Update: So I was tried every driver under the sun it seemed for my video card when I finally found out I could reflash the bios on it. I installed premas bios onto the card through windows, restarted, and magically my problems were fixed! Hope this helps others
