External Audio Interface Loss of Sound at Random

I've recently started experiencing a strange problem involving my Roland Duo-Capture Ex audio interface losing sound after a small period of time of it being on. The device itself will stay on and powered, as well as it being still visible under playback devices and in the device manager. Sound will just cut however for instance when playing music. through Spotify. I have gone through various fixes including reinstalling the device's drivers, connecting it through different usb ports, and disabling exclusive control. The problem will inevitably occur no matter how many times I restart the device. I know that my sound works fine since I can switch to system sound without a problem.

I've narrowed getting the problem down to my pc since I do not experience this problem when connecting the interface to my laptop. The laptop also runs Windows 10 fully updated. I've run out of fixes, and it is driving me crazy.

The audio interface will also stay visible in the playback menu, however it will be stuck at the level it had before as it froze:

I have a recording studio and used to have a Roland Octa-Capture.

The Duo-Capture can run on USB bus power or external power supply. If you are using USB bus power that could be one issue.

This was designed to be used with recording software, not to be the PC's "sound card". Why do you want to use this instead of the PC's in built sound card? I find the Realtek on my motherboard to be perfectly adequate for PC sound.

I haven't tried using external power, but I'll try get a power cable for it, or even using battery power just to test. Could be the problem even though I don't see any loss of power. Will report back ASAP for results.

I use my computer for both personal use and for recording, and I find it simpler to use the interface for both, as I do not have to be constantly switching jacks for my headphones when I want to use my recording software. There are additional reasons why, but for simplicity I'll keep it at finding it very useful to use it for both.

Try a different port on the PC too. If you are using a front panel USB port, try a rear port. One other thought, make sure the PC sound is disabled, preferably in the BIOS in case it is causing a problem with the Duo-Capture.

I'm now using an MOTU 896Mk3 Hybrid recording interface unit. I'm using the MOTU ASIO driver and it does not have "Stereo Mix" so one reason to use the PC's sound (Realtek in my case).

I can confirm, the problem is not power-related...

Tested both battery power and adapter and both yield with the same crash.

This still leads to the fact that it is my pc at fault since the crashes don't occur when using the interface with my laptop.
