Exit Explorer from Taskbar Properties in Windows 8

How to "Exit Explorer" from Taskbar Properties in Windows 8 and 8.1

information   Information
This tutorial will show you how to use the Exit Explorer context menu item from taskbar properties to make it easy to completely kill all explorer tasks at once if needed in Windows 8 and 8.1.

This could be handy if you needed to perform a task without explorer running.

Here's How:

1. While on your Start, Apps, or desktop, press and hold the CTRL + Shift keys, right click on the taskbar, release the CTRL + Shift keys, and click/tap on Exit Explorer.

2. When you are ready to start explorer again, press the CTRL + Shift + ESC keys to open Task Manager. In Task Manager, click/tap on File (menu bar), and click/tap on Run new task. In the "Create new task" dialog, type explorer, and click/tap on OK.

That's it,
Shawn
