Solved Everything from the start-up tab in task manager is gone!

What I was doing before was applying the recovery wim using dism. (which was 8.0)

I then installed Windows 8.0 and all of its updates. I then upgrade to Windows 8.1, installed all 8.1 updates. Then did anytime upgrade from 8.1 Core to 8.1 Pro. Then upgraded to Windows 10 Preview

As you said, issue occurred on both OS's personally would not of jumped to technical preview to try to resolve my issues as you did and seen was no resolve, now back to square one. Meaning system came with Windows 8 and you updated to 8.1 originally ? Of course went to Win 10 Technical preview.

You mean the "Get more features with new edition of Windows" link in System properties, for Pro version ?

I have disc for Windows 8.1 Pro, so i never had to go that route, but no issues from Pro version.

Not sure, all research i am doing on this issue, not much on it, possible some other software could be causing it, is my only other thoughts, why we did a clean boot scenario. Still maybe something like this.

I have Steam, as you mentioned before, i disabled in the Steam options,also done in Task Manager start up tab, but mine does not show there anymore like you were saying. Might be saying some programs may not show in Task Manager startup tab.

A reinstalled fixed everything. Just need to install drivers from the Asus Installation Wizard and I am done

Good, think something on system then was causing this. Let's see had Windows 8.1 on system and it did it, but not sure what was on system far as software and drivers compared to when put Windows 10 on, since did it on both OS's , time will tell when put all back on. Why i said to put stuff back on one at a time,wait a bit, make manual restore points. No problem, because you rep me recently is why, Your welcome
