Error Code 0x80070005 Updating App From Windows Store?

I have Windows 8.0 and I keep getting this message while trying to update the video app from the Windows Store.
Is there any way to solve this problem and download the update to this app?...or
Is there another app I can use to replace the video app?

Is there any update on this error? It's still an issue 7 years later and the solutions posted by Nuccii don't seem to help me.

I'm running Windows 8.1. I can't upgrade to Windows 10, because I do work using 3rd party programs that don't play well with 10. Restore is NOT an option, because re-installing said 3rd party programs is prohibitive. Repair Windows 8.1 using a mounted ISO file (downloaded from MS website) fails (takes about an hour to try to update, fail, and then restore original settings). I have been working on this for 3 months! I have tried every thing I can find on the net. Everything I have tried either does not work (no change in problem, or shift between error codes 0x80073cf9 and 0x80070005) or will not execute at all with a whole new set of error codes. I am understandably very frustrated.

Can anyone help?
