Email notification sound

I`ve read all of the tutorials on setting an email sound for Outlook 2007 but to no avail. All of the notification settings are on and in control panel/sounds/ i set to both Desktop mail notification and new mail notification but still not getting a sound for new emails arriving. Could you help please. (see attached)
If i click on send/receive when i send an email to myself to test, the notification sound happens

I`ve done some checking and find that other program events work with a sound.

Solved it through "Rules and Alerts".
