I just noticed with my Toshiba Laptop that when I run dual monitor's with the option extended it slows down computer performance . I just want to confirm with you guys, Can your computer and Laptop perform at a slow speed when dual monitors are on?

I have dual monitors here at work (desktop) and at home (laptop) and haven't noticed any degradation in performance. I have a couple of users here with dual monitors also and haven't heard any complaints. Outside my department the are numerous others with dual monitors and I've heard of no problems with them either.

There must be something unique to your situation that's costing you performance. Just guessing, I'd make sure the latest video driver is installed and manually run Windows Update to see if there are any updates that need to be installed.

Good luck with it.

I run dual monitors on my desktop, and until very recently, ran dual monitors on an HP ultrabook laptop docked with an external display -- and have noticed no degradation in performance over a single monitor.

Large resolutions with low end GPU can slow down system with multiple displays, it's up to GPU to supply enough "power" to them.

I'm using the Asus G74 laptop with the 1600 x 900 display and my second monitor as a display of 19 20 x 10 80 and there is no degradation of performance.

The GPU chip inside of this laptop is the Nvidia 560 M

I've run dual monitors for quite a few years now and never have I had a degradation of performance so I would start looking elsewhere to find out what's causing it on your laptop
