This might do the trick:

1. Open cmd.exe with Administrator rights
2. Type in:
"secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose"
3. Restart your computer when the process completes

the operating system itself not support the hardware

Prateek, that is an impossible scenario. Technically, it is not right to think like this because you would be doing yourself a disservice.

You and I have similar hardware. Old boards, similar lan, same LGA775 cpu socket for P4 or Pentium D amongst other things. We're digital relatives, so to speak heh. If you do some research yourself too, I am betting you can get this going. If it's physically damaged from a power spike or similar, which would be rare but possible, then that is the only type of scenario where you would be out of luck.

Even if that was the case, you can install a PCI card for lan abilities. I have no clue of the price of them in your country, but they are very inexpensive here. I bet for 20 U.S.D. or possibly cheaper; I haven't looked.

You'll find this interesting. It's the Product Guide for your board:

http://downloadmirror.intel.com/15112/eng/D102GGC2_ProductGuide_English.pdf

Page 16 shows the lan leds and their meanings.

Pages 45 & 46 are a good resource, because they outline where the jumpers are on the board and their settings for bios program modes. I would run it in 2-3 mode, as shown and clear things in the menu it speaks of.

I only looked briefly, but maybe there is other good information in that .pdf file.

Good luck and please keep us updated on any efforts. :cool:

If you want to test out your system otherwise, download and boot to live Knoppix that can be ran from USB stick, or either one of a burned CD or DVD. It's a bootable operating system.

I hear ya and understand that's how it seems to you. Code 10 can also be caused by not enough resources available. Perhaps Windows 8 has things enabled that your 7 does not, leaving no resources for the lan to work well.

You should also try disabling all unused things in the bios, such as if you are not using the serial and/or parallel ports, firewire ports etc...

You're welcome.

Waiting is not going to do anything for ya at all.

I feel rather dirty even suggesting this, so please make pretend I didn't. It's a 2006 driver ehhhhhhhhh.

You can try to install this using the device manager and see how it goes.

Like I said, you didn't get this 2006 driver or my suggestion to try it from me lol.

Any luck? If not, try copying the driver from your 7 install to the 8 (\Windows\System32\drivers) then reboot.

It is actually working for me and I just edited this post now, while using it:

No worries :)

On the first page of this thread you posted the output from a network diagnostic. When you run the diagnostic it creates some*.etl files in:

C:\Users\{User name)\AppData\Local\Temp

Can you can find the most recent of those files and attach it to a post. The easiest thing to do is, run the diagnostic again, read the report and identify the file name, then find that file in the location mentioned above.

Thanks for the files. I'm not totally convinced Windows is seeing your network card correctly. can you do a search of the registry for me and look for the following GUIDS

{713CFC83-BB98-4c4d-93F6-D576BC8D9A0A}
{E6E6CD4E-C50B-479d-936A-37215B6C1362}

If you find one or both, can you export the key and attach it/them here please.

Curious! Ok, last idea for now.

1. Open Regedit
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
3. Look through the subkeys - labelled 0001, 0002, 0003 etc., until you find the subkey for the Realtek driver.
4. Delete this subkey
5. Reboot
6. Open Device Manager/Network adapters/Realtek...
7. Right click the adapter and choose Update Driver Software
8. Select Browse my Computer...
9. Select Let me pick from a list...
10. You should see a list of drivers, select the one with the most recent date.
11. Let it install and reboot if necessary.

If that fails to work, you can repeat the process but choose a different driver. In this case, if you see a driver in the list called something like - Realtek RTL8168B/8111B Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20) - choose that.

Excellent Calico. Just one addition if I may...I just woke up so lol on me too, but..

That screenshot shows what is generally for the 1000 mbps Realtek lan.

Prateek should have something like this for the 100 mbps version:

(It might be hard to see, but folder 10 is the chosen one here - but ya, different on all machines.)
