I tried to figure out how to turn off driver signing in 8. I had to because my wireless adapter's driver literally gets rejected by the OS. I dug around in the 7 forum and found this :

bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

The power shell didn't give me any guff so i figured it would work but apparently didn't. I checked the hardware forum but didn't find anything about it. I trying to install a lynksys ae 1000 usb adapter for wireless. Went fine in 7. Any ideas?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Non-Driver Signing

is set to 0 or 1?
