I have been getting this error constantly. The hard drive was 6 years old so I installed a new Western Digital HDD. I reinstalled windows installed all manufacture drivers. Did a memory test no issues. So I have collected the mini dump files and hope this can be resolved. This machine is an old beater so I am researching this problem on my other machine as the Asus is crashing to often to do anything on it.

Hi W900,

I assume the laptop itself is as well around 6 years old?

Yes. I was looking around at other BSOD's and I uninstalled KB4056895 and so far things have been working. It seems to be bad news for older AMD processors. If you went over my attachment did it tell you anything ? Just curious about the mini dump file i attached.

There are some irregular things in the logs and my [BGCOLOR=transparent]current analysis points to a hardware issue that cannot be easily fixed, unfortunately I can't say which hardware part and I am not 100% certain as I'd like to have more than 1 dump. [/BGCOLOR]

[BGCOLOR=transparent]The crash you had usually involves the display drivers, but I noticed more drivers + issues with crash dump generation. This all points to something other than the GPU. [/BGCOLOR]

I need to reinstall the catalyst graphics driver because the newer one was a beta version and the graphics card gets no more support. As far as hardware it could be as I drooped it pretty hard on the pavement. I had it completely apart because I could not get into the Bios so I replaced the CMOS battery and did not see any cracks in the motherboard or any swollen capacitors. Other than that its been 2 hours and its humming along fine so far.

You're very lucky if it stays like that :)

I Know. I am updating all the drivers now and I will see what happens tonight by using it and report back tomorrow.

Solved CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT and DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION issues
This is the thread I found out about the January update KB4056895 causing BSOD on older AMD processors. The Asus refuses to die. Uninstalling this update solved my problem. I have thrown everything I could at it and it is happily humming along. Thank You Axe0 for the quick response when I was in panic mode !!

Cody712 did you uninstall KB4056895. I am wondering if it needs to be installed for the new KB hotfix or is the new KB a replacement ? So far my old beater is running like new !!!!

KB4056895 isn't a requirement for the new update, the new update does, however, fixes problems introduced with KB4056895.
