DPC Watchdog Violation on Application Launch

Hello,
I am having this issue with DPC Watchdog Violation each and every time I load Minecraft.
The application attempts to load, but then the machine locks up, mouse freezes, sound freezes etc.

After a few minutes, I get BSOD'd and receive the DPC_Watchdog_Violation error. The computer then finishes the dump, but sits on a blank screen. It does not reboot without manual intervention.

This is my setup and what I have done so far to troubleshoot
I am running an XFX Radeon HD 6950, with 3 monitors, using Eyefinity (Similar to spanning across all 3)
I have tried it with and without eyefinity enabled. This does not appear to be the issue. For the purposes of the dump, eyefinity was disabled.

I have updated the drivers on my Corsair Force XT SSD to the latest firmware update (5.xx)
I have updated the drivers on my XFX Radeon HD 6950 with drivers directly from the AMD Website (XFX does not appear to supply drivers and/or I just cant find a drivers page on their site)
I have Updated to the latest Java x64 Build. (Minecraft is a Java Application)
Other Applications/Games do not appear to cause BSODs, but I'm guessing that is only because they are calling different functions.

Attached Below is my W7Forums Dump. I assume that this works for W8 as well as I was directed to the utility from the W8Forums Sticky. Thanks for looking :)

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

We've seen a number of BSOD issues with SSD's. Here's the information that I've compiled so far:
There's not a whole bunch available to test SSD's. The "easiest" test is to remove the SSD, install a platter-based hard drive, install Windows and test for stability that way.

Here's some suggestions:
- Update the SSD's firmware to the latest available version (VERY IMPORTANT!!!)
- Update the motherboard controllers drivers to the latest available version from the controller manufacturer (NOT the mobo manufacturer unless you can't find any on the controller manufacturer's website)
- Slow the memory (RAM) down to the next slower speed (I've only seen one person who claimed that this worked for them).
- Use any manufacturer's utilities that you may have. If you don't have any, then try this free one (I haven't used it myself): Crystal Dew World
- Update chipset and storage controller drivers to the latest available from the manufacturer of the device (not the manufacturer of the motherboard). Be sure to update ALL controllers on the motherboard!
....NOTE: Recently (Nov 2011) we had BSOD issues with the Marvell 91xx controller and an SSD. You may have to switch controllers also.
- Replace the SSD with a platter based hard drive and see if that stops the BSOD's. If it does, then it's likely that there's a problem with the SSD OR an incompatibility with your system.
It's my opinion that SSD's aren't reliable enough (with current hardware) to be used on a system that needs to work reliably. Until I see reliability I will not recommend, nor will I use, SSD's for critical applications.
06 Dec 2011 - This post tends to confirm issues with certain SSD chipsets and certain controllers - [SOLVED] cant find the cause of BSOD F4 - Tech Support Forum
29 May 2012 - The frequency of BSOD's with SSD's seems to have been decreasing over the last several months. It may be approaching time to re-evaluate my stand on their suitability for use in production systems.
10 Nov 2012 - I'm seeing an upswing in SSD errors - but most appear due to older storage controller drivers. I strongly suggest NOT using storage controller drivers that don't date from 2012 (if none are available, don't connect an SSD to that controller)
05 Jan 2013 - very interesting post about difficulties with the Marvell controllers even when not connected to the SSD drives: https://www.eightforums.com/bsod-cr...-pc-reboots-when-waking-sleep.html#post169956

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

The memory dumps blame your video drivers. Additionally, you have the AMD Overdrive utility installed - which is known to cause BSOD's on some systems. Please do the following:
AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.
Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please remove the software for your Avnex Ltd. Virtual Audio Device (it's drivers date from 2008)
And then physically remove the device from your system.
Test to see if that helps the BSOD's
I'm seeing an increasing number of BSOD's related to sound-equipped video cards installed alongside other additional sound cards in Win8.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Not a problem. I appreciate the support I am getting, and your response is very thorough, with facts and data to back it up.
Something that is extremely rare with Microsoft even with their paid professional support. I definitely appreciate the time you are spending to help me.

I tried completely uninstalling AMD Catalyst and its additional programs and re installed only the Drivers and once without the AMD Vision Control Centre. The problem persists.

I've reinstalled it since as I need it to configure my Eyefinity Setup. I at no point was able to find anything with overdrive mentioned in device manager, even with a full install, vs driver install only.

I'm not sure if the SSD or the storage controller is the problem, as this does not appear to happen with any other application.
I would think that the application would call the same functions regardless of the way an application saves the file vs graphics, which would call different features/functions based on application. I could of course be completely wrong, but that would be my train of thought. I would like to pursue troubleshooting the graphics path first.

I will check for a BIOS update. I am familiar with the process and am aware of the risks which is why I would like to leave this as a last ditch resort as I have had several boards brick in my time due to badly written BIOS update Firmware and since this board is out of warranty, I'm not quite inclined to buy a new one as of yet. My Rig is not overclocked and the problem only seems to appear when the software is attempting to render a "zone" in the application with certain "mods" enabled. (Another Reason I believe this is graphics related). Vanilla, the software seems to load fine (I think the "mod" is calling a video function that is not called using vanilla).

Since I cannot find the AMD Overdrive utility to uninstall (even with showing the hidden device drivers), I would assume that isolating this would be the first step. Can you help me find this utility?

Here's my canned speech about further attempts to remove AMD Overdrive:
If AODDriver2.sys is still present and the software/device isn't present and the driver isn't needed - then please do this (thanks to jcgriff2):
Bring up elevated Admin cmd prompt -
START | type cmd.exe | RIGHT-click on cmd.exe | "Run as Administrator" | type/ paste the following -
Code:
where /r c:\ /f /t AODDrive*.* > 0 & start notepad 0
It may take a few minutes.

A Notepad will open wth the results. That will state the location of all OverDrive drivers.

My canned speech for Part 2 of the AMD Overdrive removal:
Please post the results in your next post. This will help to locate the AMD Overdrive drivers that start with "AODDrive"

Then:
- create a System Restore point.
- create a System Repair disc and ensure that it works. To do this, go to Start...All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc
- uninstall all ATI video stuff using Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program (this may make the next 3 steps unnecessary - if so, just continue on).

- check in services.msc to see if there is an AOD service. If there is, set it to "Disabled" for the startup type.
- then disable any startups that name AODDriver2.sys using Autoruns (free from here: Autoruns for Windows )
- rename AODDriver2.sys to AODDriver2.BAD (it's probably in C:\Windows\System32\drivers)
----------01 June 2012 - Owner found AOD in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64

- reboot and see if that fixes the problem(s). Check in C:\Windows\System32\drivers (or the other folder) to be sure that it stays renamed.
- install fresh video drivers using the procedure here: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure
DO NOT install the full Catalyst Control Center package!!!

I disabled AMD Fuel service and also renamed the AOD file to .BAD
It was located in C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Fuel\amd64

I've restarted the computer and verified that the file is still named *.bad and the service is still off, but the problem persists.

I did not reinstall or install the driver itself as I figured the canned response was for an bad installation. Do I have to reinstall the driver after I remove it?

Nope, you did what is needed.
If it's still BSOD'ing, please zip up and upload the memory dumps located in C:\Windows\Minidump with your next post.

Please be advised that I'm having system problems and may not be able to run memory dumps for a day or two - but I'll still be able to respond to questions during that time.

The memory dumps point at video drivers, but I'm still very concerned about the Avnex Virtual Audio device from 2008.
I'm starting to wonder about audio conflicts with newer video cards - I'm seeing similar results in different systems that have audio capable video cards - AND - add-on audio devices/software.

Please check your video card to be sure it's not overheating. Check the temps with a temperature monitoring device, check to be sure that the cooler isn't clogged and is getting good all-around airflow. Check that the fan is working. And check that the power cable (if so equipped) is firmly seated. If all that passes - then consider borrowing another video card to test with.

Please remove the Avnex Virtual Audio device while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to reinstall an up to date, Win8 compatible version once the system has been stabilized.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

No need to contact XFX or ATI - this is a suspicion of mine, not a verified bug.

Please double check the removal of the AMD Overdrive - as it's shown up again in this memory dump.
This is essential as we're focusing down on the problem relating to your video. Removal of the known BSOD components will allow us to determine if this is a hardware problem.

If you've done everything (to include a search of your entire hard drive(s) for AODDriver*.sys), then post back for further suggestions. DO NOT install Catalyst Drivers, the Catalyst Control Center, or the Catalyst Software Suite.

Then, if the BSOD's don't stop, run these free hardware diagnostics (concentrate on the 2 video test sections first): Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :
