I don't use Google because it's just too invasive (or it was awhile back).

Before installing a new software, I always check, if it listed on Softpedia. They post only malware clean software and if the application is ad-supported. They do not even list my favorite KCSumo, because it's installer is full of junk, but it is still the best update checker out there with almost every soft available.
Thanks for the tip about using Softpedia to get malware free software. I'll will definately use them in the future. I quit downloading from CNET because of the garbage they were adding to software and I won't go back.

Did it change it or ask you to change it? Big difference.
I dislike anything Google and you’re correct, it is invasive. I think Bing Smart Search is so much better and now it’s integrated in 8.1.

Ok and fair enough it is. I don't mind being asked, for it may present a better choice for me. But it's like jimbo explains, it's when they try to sneak or force it upon me that gets my goat.
I don't have Apple products, but I know Google is notorious for it.
