card: MSI GTX 970
Hello,
I've recently come across a very frustrating issue that has brought me to my wits end. For around 25 days, the computer I built has been functioning perfectly. Suddenly, yesterday morning my display and computer crashes while playing CS. I rebooted, loaded back in, and it crashed. Tried again, crash.
The problem occurs randomly. Sometimes it crashes as soon as I load up into a game. Sometimes I can play for 5 minutes before it crashes. Sometimes 20 minutes. Last night I was going for 2 hours before it crashed. What happens is the display will cut off and I get a no signal message from my monitor, at which point one of the three happens
1. BSOD like crash where the sound glitches out, of course my screen is black and there's no error
2. I can hear the game sound playing normally in the background but the computer is not responsive
3. Computer straight up reboots
This problem is so frustrating because I have no idea how to troubleshoot it. No crash dumps are saved (either on windows or WhoCrashed) and no critical errors in the reliability history.
I've stress tested my CPU, video card, and memory, and no problems occur. No high temps, no crashes, no low frames, no errors. The problem never occurs outside of a game, and the video card works fine in stress tests and normal computer use. It hooks up to my monitor and displays 144hz just fine.
I've tried formatting, not installing windows updates, installing windows updates, cleaning out all drivers with DDU and reinstalling them, changing around some BIOS settings, setting them back to default, reseating my video card, and nothing has worked. Needless to say I'm extremely frustrated.
Anyone have any experience or advice? Anything will be appreciated
. Thanks in advance.
