Diskpart list disk info messed up

Don't know when this happened but just noticed that diskpart, list disk info is whacked.

Disk 0 250GB Samsung EVO SATA-3 SSD
Disk 1 2TB Seagate ST2000DM001 SATA-2
Disk 2 1.5TB Seagate ST3150041AS SATA

I'm running dism and sfc now, will see if that makes any difference. If not, what else could I look at or try?

Looks OK to me too, what is whacked? List disk lists the physical disks, their size and un partitioned free space.

Maybe you are confusing disks with volumes (partitions)?

I believe you are right and I am confusing disk with volume.

So my idea of using diskpart to see how much free space there is on a volume won't work.

No, doesn't look like it will work. Even if you select disk and list partition, it doesn't show free space.

I'm drawing a blank. How would you show the size and free space for a volume from a Command Prompt other than dir?

I wanted something quick, chkdsk takes too long.

Yeah, chkdsk is overkill for the info you want, was all I could think of at that moment. I don't do very much from the command line these days. Looks like you found the command you wanted. :thumb:

Yes, I did, and it's even more than I had hoped as it shows whether the drive is GPT or MBR which is handy to know.
