Direct/Private Messaging Possible Here?

Is there a way to contact through this site privately? How do I change my preferences to allow others to contact me?

Thanks for the reply and when I do as you describe the drop-down dialogue box doesn't seem to offer that selection, other names I've tried do have it. Has the user elected to not allow PM's?
