Dell Studio 14: Takes forever to shut down!

Hi there from past 3 day i have been facing this problem. when i shut down my laptop with windows 8 installed in, it takes forever to shut down. as soon as i press shut down it follows routine procedure like shutting of screen etc but the power button was still lightened and fans were still running up, you can say for 10 odd minutes:shock: consequently i have to continue pressing the power button to shut down my laptop:huh:. Could any one recommend me what to do as its quite an odd problem for me

It seems like there is something causing the system to hang on shut down. Do you close all your programs before telling the computer to shut down? Are you pressing your laptops power button to shut it down? Pressing the power button right on the laptop will cause it to go into sleep mode, not shut down.
