Deleting files and changing names on folders take ages on the desktop

Hello, I've had this problem for a long time now and I hope someone can tell me what the problem could be.
Deleting any file or changing name on any file on the desktop takes ages...

So this only happens on the desktop? And it only happens when deleting or renaming a file? Weird! So the delay does not happen when saving a new file to the desktop? Have you checked that it also doesn't happen if you try to delete a file or change a filename if it is located in "Documents" or "Pictures" folders?
