Internet explorer has failed to work the last couple days "internet explorer is not responding". Out of frustration I removed the program. How do I now load another browser or reinstall IE since I don't have a browser to access the internet? "Not responding" message was too common the last few months. What is the best browser to load for windows 8?

Question, how did you uninstall IE can not uninstall IE, only disable it (turn it off) ? Where exactly was this error showing right in the browser or in another window ? FireFox is a good browser. Ever check the Event Viewer for errors pertaining to this ?

Well uninstalling it may have solved your issue with it, just not a way to go about it, could of came here sooner, then we could of tried to work out the issues. O.k. without it as long as you install another browser.

Came up with easy fix while puttzing around. I re-initialized the computer. It re-initialized and installed IE 10. Good not 11. All my favorites were still there. Just lost a couple things from my desktop that will be easy to put back on.

Not sure what you mean by reinitialize the PC, you really think using IE 10 browser is better idea ? If want me try to help you with IE 11 i can. Otherwise if this satisfies you , o.k. then.

So my solution lasted all of one day when I got the not responding message again. That was on my desktop screen. Went to start screen and it worked. So I loaded Firefox. Hopefully no more browser issues. I personally think it is a windows 8 issue.

Go through all solutions in post #2 links ? Did not think putting an older version of IE would fix it, only leads to security risks. I use Firefox always to me one of the best browsers, use IE just for links within windows.

Why don't you try running System File Checker too. At Admin Command Prompt copy this and press enter
sfc /scannow

Then this in same command prompt

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Then reboot the pc
