Since you are not signed in as an administrator, the .reg file will not be able to fully merge since some of the registry locations it restores to default can only be modified if signed in as an administrator. :(

I followed the instructions, downloaded on desktop, extracted the files and restarted the computer and nothing happened. The reg file is still sitting on the desktop. ?? I am the administrator on the account. BUT, I'm also on a domain using a laptop in which I've run into problems such as I can't access user account control.

What issue are you having?

Did you also merge the extracted downloaded .reg files for the affected file extensions?

Are you signed in with an administrator account?

Hello littlesamm, and welcome to Eight Forums. :)

.pak file type are not associated to open with a program by default in Windows. What were you wanting to associate it with, or did you want to unassociate it?

In that case, you can use the link I posted above for "Open with" to set .sdk files to always open with WMP. :)

Then it sounds like the file extension was just renamed instead of it being properly converted to the other format.

module file

Can anyone please tell me how to change a module file back to its default settings? I used a notepad to open a module file and it changed all the module files so that they can now be always opened with notepad. But interestingly the file extension didn't change, the file extension is still module file not text file, but in place of the module file icon that was before now there are notepad icons. I tried to delete the notepad.exe from the regedit HKEY_CURRENT_USER - .module - openwithlist folder several times to try to change the module files back to default but the notepad.exe keeps reappearing in the openwithlist folder even after I've deleted it. Any kind of advice would be welcome.
